ARKONE - PRESENTAZIONE PROGETTO - ITALIANO
ARKONE - PRESENTAZIONE PROGETTO – INGLESE
My work is a temporal interstice: a living archive of an obsession that spans fifty years of history, culminating on May 23, 2030. The project is born from an absence, the absence of the excluded. In the first video, covering the 1975-2025 period, we track the traces of SaMu in Yerevan, in the shadow of Mount Ararat. Here, research activities were brutally interrupted: in 1988, the laboratories were shut down by the KGB under the pretext of the Spitak earthquake, a cover-up operation that lasted for decades. It was only in 2022, following the reopening of the sites and new multidisciplinary studies, that we finally decoded the Ararat Stele, confirming that its message is not mythology, but a real geological warning.
The Stele is our black box: an archaic contract that dictates the rules for a futuristic technology. Within this archive, we safeguard SaMu’s letter, taxonomic records, and the skeletal remains of those species that myth and history decided to leave behind on the first Ark. These display cases are not mere archaeological artifacts; they are monuments to the aesthetics of exclusion, a warning of what happens when survival is reduced to bureaucratic selection.
In the second video, we enter the dystopia we already inhabit, channeled through the propaganda of ArkOne Inc. Here, the project explores the "End of History": the future is no longer a promise of progress, but a raw calculation of survival dictated by the geological countdown engraved on the Stele. Faced with the rising Void and climate collapse, financial capital has turned to ash, and salvation has been transformed into the ultimate product: the Time Assignment Contract. One can only board the ArkOne by surrendering one’s biological time or memories, in a process of "Digital Dehumanization" where the body ceases to be an individual and becomes a simple biopolitical data point, a system file processed by an algorithm.
I flatten every social distinction: billionaire and laborer are equal before the scanner, weighed only by their residual years. It is the final form of inclusion, which coincides with the extinction of identity. In this scenario, "Environmental Dystopia becomes a Market Opportunity": ArkOne does not seek to resolve climate collapse; rather, it profits directly from the very disaster the system helped create, selling survival as a luxury commodity.
Through this boarding protocol, my work addresses the pathologies of our time: the systemic conspiracies rewriting reality, the violence of social exclusion, the omnipotence of mega-corporations that absorb every fragment of private life to transform it into financial assets, and the total commodification of existence. ArkOne invented nothing; it merely extracted the algorithm of disaster from the stone and turned it into a business model. Leaving this space, the question becomes unavoidable: if time is the only currency left and we are all equally expendable, how much of your life are you willing to erase to see the dawn of May 24, 2030?
